A black hole is a point of singularity where nothing including light can escape it.
The event horizon is the part of the black hole that has infinite gravity and mass but no volume.
Hawking radiation is the only thing discovered that can escape a black hole, this was discovered by Stephen Hawking.
Quick Facts
Nothing including light can escape a black hole!
Black holes cannot be seen, hence the name black hole!
Hawking radiation is the only thing that can escape a black hole!
Stephen Hawking discovered Hawking radiation.
Black holes are formed after the supernova of a star.
Black holes are infinitely small in volume and infinitely large in mass.
Some scientists beleive that black holes bend space and time so much that they create wormholes to paralell universes.
Black holes are believed to be anchor of galaxies.
Black holes are often as whirlpool type things.
There is a machine in Switzerland that could be capable of creating black holes.
The forming of a black hole
starlife.jpg
Becoming a black hole is one of the three things that can be a stars ending. If a star does become a black hole it would go supernova first. A supernova is the explosion and death of some stars. As you can see in the picture above there is a one in three chance that a star will become a black hole after death, but there is a one in two chance for it to become a black hole if it has gone supernova. The forming of a black hole from beginning to end: First there is a cloud of swirling dust and debris called stellar nebula. Then the nebula becomes a massive star, and then it expands and becomes a red supergiant. Force starts to become so powerful that it explodes as a supernova. The material implodes to an infinitely small size and and has so much gravity that it sucks in everything around it. The black hole has been formed. MLA Bibliography
